Static cowl with cover 7A – 20 x 30 cm
Static cowl with cover in concrete, with two short straight sides, for a flue in the middle of a row of flues, in flue sizes from 20 x 30 to 20 x 50 cm. Both short sides are vertical. The cowl therefore meets the cowls on the neighbouring flues on both sides, in a row of three or more flues.
The two long sides are chamfered and deflect rain and wind. At the top a closed cover fully shields the flue outlet from rain. Below it, 3 or 4 profiled rings keep the draught stable in any wind direction. There are no moving parts, no maintenance and no power supply. The concrete is natural grey.
You order by the internal size of the flue. Type 7A for 20 x 30 cm measures 42 x 40 cm externally, type 7B for 20 x 40 cm measures 42 x 50 cm.
| Type | Item | Flue size |
|---|---|---|
| 7A | 134533 | 20 x 30 cm |
| 7L | 134536 | 20 x 35 cm |
| 7B | 134534 | 20 x 40 cm |
| 7G | 134535 | 20 x 50 cm |
The rings are dry-stacked and staggered on a clean, flat chimney top, so that the cover sits level. Each flue gets its own cowl.
Which cowls go on the flues at the end of the row? They only have a neighbour on one side, so they take a version with one short straight side.
When do I choose a cover rather than an open crown? When the flue outlet must be fully shielded from rain. For the open crown with bird mesh and deflector, see the Superior static cowl.
Is a bemalkap the same as a static cowl? Yes, bemalkap, bemal and tiratrek are Flemish names for a static cowl. It is also called an anti-downdraught cowl or chimney cowl.
