Flue and chimney cleaner powder, 1 kg

Soot remover powder, 1 kg (DZ600), for stoves, fireplaces and boilers burning wood, coal or briquettes. You sprinkle it on the hot embers in the warm appliance. It loosens soot and tar in the appliance and flue: the deposit dries out and turns brittle. Supplied to order, about 1 week.

Light the fire first and sprinkle the powder once there are hot embers. The amount and frequency are on the packaging. If the flue already has a thick layer of tar, have it swept first. For a pellet stove take the granules DZ620.

Does soot remover replace sweeping? No. The powder does not replace sweeping. Sweep the flue yourself with a kit such as DZ200 or DZ100, or call in a chimney sweep. Check your policy for what your insurer asks.
