Storm collar ø180
Stainless steel storm collar for the IE single-wall flue system, from Ø80 to Ø400, fitted around the flue pipe above the roof flashing or shaft cover plate.
A storm collar, also called a rain collar or drip ring, is a metal collar around the flue pipe. It sits just above the roof flashing or the shaft cover plate. Rainwater running down the outside of the pipe is kept out of the shaft and out of the house. You use it in new builds and when renovating an existing chimney, on the flue of a condensing boiler, a wood stove or a pellet stove.
Choose the storm collar by the pipe diameter: Ø80, Ø100, Ø110, Ø125, Ø130, Ø150, Ø160, Ø180, Ø200, Ø250, Ø300, Ø350 or Ø400. The item code follows the size: IES080 is Ø80 and IES400 is Ø400. If the top of the shaft also needs closing, the same series has a shaft cover plate with the storm collar already fitted.
How do I make the storm collar watertight on the pipe? Finish the top edge with a heat-resistant silicone sealant. Water can then no longer run between collar and pipe.
Do I need a storm collar if there is already a roof flashing? Yes. The flashing seals the roof, the storm collar seals the gap between the flashing and the pipe.
Does it also fit a twin-wall pipe? Storm collars are used on single-wall and twin-wall systems. Choose the size by the outer diameter of the twin-wall pipe.
