Shaft cover plate with air inlet, stainless steel, Ø60 to Ø300 (chimney top)
Stainless steel shaft cover plate with air inlet for chimney renovation: flue gas through the end pipe, combustion air down the shaft, Ø60 to Ø300. The plate closes the chimney head, the end pipe continues the flue above the roof, and fresh air enters under the skirt and descends along the flue pipe to the appliance. An existing chimney thus becomes both flue and air supply, with no extra penetration through roof or wall.
Application. Renovation of a chimney or shaft with a stainless steel liner of the IE series for a room-sealed appliance that takes its combustion air from the shaft (type C93), and renovation of a collective shaft (CLV). When the appliances stand in a boiler room, the same air inlet ventilates the shaft around the liner. Suitable for condensing boilers on gas and oil.
How it works. Air enters under the skirt, passes through the slots in the cap and drops into the shaft through the ring between end pipe and collar. The skirt keeps out rain and wind. The end pipe sits loose in a seal and can slide. The liner can thus expand freely without pushing the cap up.
Construction. End pipe in stainless steel 316L (0.5 to 0.6 mm), cap, skirt, collar and plate in stainless steel 304. The square plate is flat (0.6 mm), with a raised collar around the opening, and has four Ø10 fixing holes in the corners (A - 50 mm centre to centre). At the top, a ring fixed with blind rivets clamps the seal around the end pipe.
Which code to order? Order IESAL followed by the diameter of your flue in three digits, for example IESAL160 for Ø160. Check that the chimney head is large enough for the plate (A x A) and that the shaft opening is at least as large as the collar (Ø D1), so the air can flow down freely.

Installation in brief. Install the liner up to the top of the shaft. Place the plate with collar on the chimney head and fix it with plugs and screws in the four corner holes. Slide the cap over the collar and push the end pipe through the seal into the top pipe of the liner.
What is a shaft cover plate with air inlet for? To use an existing chimney for both flue and air supply: the flue gas leaves through the liner and the end pipe, the combustion air enters under the skirt and descends through the shaft to the appliance.
Is the air passage large enough for my appliance? The air flows through the ring between end pipe and collar (Ø D1 minus Ø d). Have it checked in the flue calculation according to EN 13384; we are happy to calculate it for you.
What is the difference with a shaft cover plate with storm collar? That one closes the shaft around the flue pipe, without air inlet. If the appliance takes its air from the shaft, or the shaft has to be ventilated, choose this shaft cover plate with air inlet.
Do I have a PPS liner? Then order the same shaft cover plate in the PW series (PWSAL, white PPS) or the PZ series (PZSAL, black PPS), in the plastic diameters Ø60 to Ø250.
Ventichim supplies the shaft cover plate with air inlet together with the complete IE series to installers throughout Belgium.
